Especially from the music playing, the clowns acting goofy, the face surgeon taking off his mask and Francis as the devil, that scene is IMO one of the most amazing scenes in movie history.
shareFear of clowns or "Coulrophobia" is a real thing apparently and I knew a few kids growing up who had it. When this movie came out some of them refused to see this movie solely for that scene. "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" was a no go from the start as well.
shareI was never really afraid of clowns and didn't really have a problem with them at all when I was a kid, I thought the surgeon was scarier than the clowns in this film to be honest.

This scene as a kid didn't bother me. I hated large Marge worse
What I also find amazing about this scene is it took me years to realize it was Francis who was the devil! That made the devil even creepier.
