Did anybody like this movie more as an adult?
When I saw this movie as a little kid, I didn't think it was that great, but when I saw this as an adult, I thought it was a great movie.

shareBoth for me lol I definitely appreciate it more as an adult for how great it really is, but I loved it as a kid
shareWell I was in my 20's in the 80's so I can't answer this ?
shareI certainly appreciate it a lot more as an adult. I remember being blown away when I realize it was directed by Tim Burton and Danny Elfman did the music.
I probably enjoyed it more as a kid since I was a pretty huge Pee-Wee fan then. I still love it as an adult and find it hilarious. The appreciation I have for it is pretty huge and more than makes up for the childish love for the movie.
I enjoyed this movie as a kid, and I still enjoy it as an adult, probably more so, as you say. There's just something about this movie, and the character Pee-Wee Herman, that has an appeal, but I'm not quite sure how to describe it. I suppose Pee-Wee represents the inner child within us all, and it's fun to see a movie with a simple plot of a guy going to great lengths to find something as simple as his lost bicycle.
This movie does have some scenes that are simple but really funny. One scene in particular is when Pee-Wee is on the road with the escaped convict at night, and he sees the road signs with the arrows going all different directions. Then they fall off a cliff in the dark, and it shows Pee-Wee's eyes lit up like a cartoon.

As a kid it was my #1 favorite movie but as an adult I still love and enjoy watching this movie, I've seen this movie at least 300 times.
shareIt came out when I was already an adult, and I liked it. I think I would have liked it as a kid, too, but as an adult I got more of the jokes and references.
shareI was an adult when it came out, and I've liked it from the start!
Still do.
