What is it with CLINT and rape scenes?

Ok, yeah, I get it. A lot of girls got raped in the OLD WEST. Sorry to hear that, but I prefer not to have it Stapled as an automatic part of the Western Movie recipe.

HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER 1973 (the Town Whore is forcefully introduced)

THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES 1976 (Sandra Locke almost gets banged by a group of CAMACHEROS)

PALE RIDER 1985 (Chris Penn fiendishly goes for the nookie)

I remember a couple of his Cop movies revolving around rape victims.

It seems like UNFORGIVEN went a whole new direction and went with a scenario of what happens when a Rapist cannot rape due to impotence.

WOW, A twist.

Also Sudden Impact.

And The Rookie, when he is the victim.

It's just a theme that fascinates him. You'll notice the plot involves victim justice or revenge, it is not just exploitation or catering to the porno crowd.

As was said earlier, non westerns, too....Gran Torino, bringing things recent.

Officer, I saw the driver who hit me. His name was Johnny Walker

Rape is along with murder the most despicable loathsome thing a person can do. It's a quick and easy way to establish the bad guy as someone the audience wants to see vanquished and makes the hero all the more heroic when he does it.

Is it really that hard to understand?

Clint uses rape it illustrate the vulnerability of women. A common theme in most Westerns and Cop movies, not just Clint's is avenging the wrongs against innocent victims. Rape is one of the most despicable acts a villian can commit. In the case of High Plains Drifter, where he was commiting rape, he was not human, and was punishing the town for their transgressions against Marshall Duncan.

It's also in For a Few Dollars More, The Beguiled, and The Gauntlet. Still, I'm not really sure what your point is, as Clint Eastwood isn't the writer for his movies, meaning it was someone else's idea to put rape in, unless your saying Clint's reaction to his screenplays are: "I like it, but it needs more rape."

"Get rid of the Seaward."
"I'll leave when I'm good and ready."

"I like it, but it needs more rape."

"Qualifications?"
"Rape, murder, arson, and rape."
"You said 'rape" twice."
"I like rape!"
