Remove the un-necessary males

This mother-daughter film would have been tighter without the token father/son who were only placed in the script as filler. One of the reasons "The Santa Clause" worked so well was that is really was just about the father and son.

What I noticed was that the pacing wasn't very good. A lot of scenes seemed to lag, especially early on in the movie before the tragedies happened. There were drawn out scenes of talking which didn't actually move the movie forward in any way, it felt a bit boring. I thought they could have cut about 1/4 of the movie out and made it better.

As for the males, I liked the relationship between Abbie and her brother. The dad was cool too.

Please elaborate how One Magic Christmas would've worked as a strictly mother/daughter story. I think it all works as a whole, it's a lovely film.

The Santa Clause is a horrible choice for a film that focuses on a particular family relationship. I enjoy that movie, but when you get down to it the kid doesn't learn to love his dad for any reason other than his dad became Santa Claus.

No, I liked the father and the son.

Bruce Lee was real. Batman was never real.

The average family has two parents, why not have that depicted on film?
