The bar scene was neat with the lip phones
There's an actual bar in LA that had those lip phones in the 80's because my mom actually went to one back then.
When we visited LA with a friend to go to Disneyland, I'll NEVER our first night in LA. LOL
We were at a telephone booth AFTER midnight, I think it was around 1 AM & it was downtown in the bad part of LA by an IHOP.
My mom got out to use the phone to get directions. So, anyway, after so many minutes, these punks with the punk hair & yes, this is TRUE, started hanging around the phone booth where my mom was using the phone.
Eventually, they realized my mother wasn't some dumb tourist, or some dumb 80's woman in the big city of LA. Of course NOT. My mom knew how dangerous it was to be out that late; esp. in the bad part of LA using a telephone AFTER midnight.
So, they're looking around & noticing my mom isn't showing any signs of fear from being mugged, then they notice my mom's friend, this 6 foot tall Native American guy and he has this serious look about him that would intimidate ANYONE. LOL
So, anyway, they after hanging around for as long as my mom is on the phone, the group who looks like rejects from a bad 80's made-for-tv movie staring punks with punk hair quickly realize my mom isn't one to bother, so they eventually walk off & then my mom gets into the car saying how scared she was.
My mom's friend kept making jokes about the whole incident about how my mom could've been mugged. Of course I didn't think it was fun NOT in the least, but everyone was okay.
It's definitely a story I'll NEVER forget.
