The one thing I don't understand about this movie..
How is it that Jesse seems to be well liked, with the popular students, and 'dating' or driving to school one of the pretty girls....when he supposedly just moved there? WTF???????????!?!?!

shareWait that's the only thing you don't understand about this movie?
shareIt's been how many months since he moved in? Freddy and the nightmares aside, Jesse is a nice kid. He drove Lisa to school, but she was crushing on him.

Well-liked? Apart from Lisa, Kerry and to a lesser extent, Ron, he seemed to have no friends. Those girls at the start on the bus thought he was a clown.
Well that was just one of his dreams - where he looked all extra nerdy with the 2 girls laughing at him on the bus.

He didn't seem all that popular to me. Weren't the kids laughing at him when he dozed off, woke up and screamed as the snake was coiling itself around him? He just wasn't especially anti-social and participated in things like sports, which may be why he wasn't overtly bullied. He was also dating a girl and later became friends with a guy who both seemed to be popular, so that probably helped him be socially accepted enough...but I didn't see much popularity on his end. He generally seemed ignored by most of his peers.
shareSome people makes friends where ever they go.
My kids befriended some new kids in a group and it was like two weeks later these girls were very popular and doing well at their new school.
And I agree with the others he didn't seem too popular to me either.
