I'm very curious, too. As it looked like the movie could've gotten extremely gory at the end. And the 89 minute version just didn't deliver that.
I don't necessarily watch movies for gore (not a true gore hound) NOR do I think a movie is good JUST because of gore (see the Hatchet triplets for examples of gore not necessarily making the movies good).
But this movie could've gotten sickeningly explicit. Especially the pit bull attack, the pit bull then getting shot, and the guy who got his head run over by the empty roller coaster.
As the violence near the middle of the movie - was about right, not overdone nor underdone.
