The opening moments of this movie almost gave me a seizure of joy the first time I saw it. They were too perfect to believe. I've since watched these scenes many, many more times.

Who can forget the air of sombre pomp as a voice over explains Reagan's concern for the lost Americans in Vietnam, and the fact that America "can't understand why the rest of the world stands idly by while Vietnam continues to violate the Geneva Convention."

And then, as if we didn't quite get it, Chucky's first line after the credits is:

"Colonel Yin, I know you don't give a damn about the Geneva Convention..."

Anyone who's even remotely familiar with America's history -- especially in the specific context of the Indochina wars -- should fall over laughing. Wasn't Braddock captured in Cambodia to boot?
