I just got the dvd.I was wondering if any one knows if this movie was shot in widescreen or full screen format and anchor bay cropped off the top and bottom of the picture and we lose some of the Kelly Preston nudity?I havent seen this movie in years and I dont have it on vhs so I dont know if this movie has been cropped or if this is how the movie was originally shot.
shareThe film was shot flat at 1.33:1 and composed for 1.85:1 for theatrical exhibition, which means, sadly, we were never meant to see Kelly's naughty bits in the theater, the opening up of the frame reveals that nice little bonus.
It isn't censorship of any kind, don't get me wrong, i'm speaking from a technical standpoint, the films intended ratio is 1.85:1 and removing the black areas reveals more visual info that was outside of the safe area, this is the case for all films shot in this manner.
