I saw a karate film a few months back and there was this guy in it and he was bad a@@!! He is a new actor but an awesome talent,he's trained in martial arts and really cute!! Check him out, his name is Jamal Rashawn Dennis.

I don't know should they take a chance on a new actor? I guess if Sam is starring he will bring the audience in. Who else could play him Derek Luke but I don't know if he can fight?? The new guy Jamal is really cute and he's already trained that would be interesting.

I do think it should be a chance for a newer actor since SLJ is playing Sho Nuff, we need more blk male and females actors.
Relative unknown Glenn Bradley would make a good Leroy imo www.glennbradleyinfo.com his is also a martial artist so that would help, maybe they could get Taimak to do some coreography for the movie.

shareI really wish they wouldn't touch this movie but since they are, I hope they pick some serious eye candy with serious skills as a martial artist to play Leroy. I honestly don't want to see someone who's just attractive. Every girl walking out of the movie theater should be in love when the movie is over....LOL. They're better off holding auditions and finding a complete unknown. And whoever plays Vanity's character should look every bit as stunning as Vanity without having a pound of make up on her face. Every guy in the movie had a crush on her and it was believable. Rhianna doesn't work for me because Vanity's character was a woman not a girl and IMO that has nothing to do with age. Whoever they wind up picking they should have some serious chemistry, look ridiculously beautiful together, and look the same age as the original characters. I think Taimak should definitely have a cameo in the movie too if he still looks good.

Other choices to me would be either Keith Robinson, (He was Effie's brother in Dreamgirls and used to be a Power Ranger) or Brad James (Great look, series regular on Tyler Perry's new show 'Meet The Browns' known martial artist).
As long as they don't cast some dancer in a fight movie, It's cool.
All I know is that Busta Rhymes needs to be cast as Sho Nuff. It would be stupid to cast anyone else.

this movie is a classic and should not be re-made. it will just poison its legacy. kind of like how they should never have made godfather III. some things are better left alone. this was one of my favorite movies as a child, i begged my mom to take me to the theater constantly and i ended up seeing it 6 times in the theater. later tied by the lost boys for most theater visits to see a movie by me.
