waaaay too much like...

the morning after...the fact that jeff bridges is in both isn't even the point. they're both just 1980 murder movies and they prolly even share a soundtrack...

All of Jack's planning had echoes of Matty Walker's scheme in "Body Heat" to set-up Edmund Walker and Ned Racine to "take" Edmund one way or another.

The back story in "Jagged Edge" leaves room for this. Jack supposedly met Page at a party, but hadn't known who she was. Jack could easily have known who she was and feigned ignorance. And then a few years later they meet again--at a club where Jack wasn't a member, he just used the pool sometimes. Jack wasn't a member, but Page was. As if he'd done his homework, learned she was a member, and hung out there, hoping to accidentally-on-purpose run into her again. How many times did Matty Walker go to that bandshell and then drive home emptyhanded, so to speak, before she got the chance to catch Ned Racine's eye?

On the other hand, I hate to compare any part of this cow dung to "Body Heat."

I never saw THE MORNING AFTER but I have heard about it and the plots do sound similar.

Well this movie came out in 1985- Morning After 1986 so that movie is way too much like Jagged Edge.
