Not great, but not that bad either

I didn't think it was too bad. Certainly not great, but not all that bad. One question: how was she able to determine just by the typewriter alone that he was the murderer after all?

reply

Peter Coyote's voice was echoing in her mind when she saw it. Jack had clearly lied and manipulated her bigtime by sending the anonymous messages. And she was probably wondering how he would have known about Julie Jensen if he had not been the one who attacked the woman. If he were so innocent, he would have openly mentioned the Jensen case to her and explained his sources.

reply

Because the typewriter they were looking for raised one of its letters.

This is a classic thriller.
