horrible movie. typewriter bit is a cheesy ripoff of "classic thriller twist moments"

What the $%*& is a Chinese Downhill?!?

wouldn't surprise me that it could have been a rip off. I liked the film myself. nice little court drama.

I would say that this is one of the best thrillers of the 1980s.

yeah that was a really good twist,, I remember watching this when I was much younger,, and it was a great movie then,, and still is now.

are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite

Well I would have been more impressed with finding the typewriter if I hadn't been asking myself two questions throughout the movie

1. who was sending her the messages?! it's ridiculous that she never seems truly worried or curious about this

2. WHY had she slept with him, and slept with him again after the trial? To begin with, I'm pretty sure that it's highly unethical to sleep with clients, yet she does it straight away - wasn't she supposed to be a good professional? She didn't even really need persuasion. And after the trial, it may have been true that he was not guilty, but it still seemed pretty obvious that he had slept with her for a reason other than attraction. First thing that crossed my mind was that he was trying to keep her "motivated" to prove him innocent. For god's sake this was a man who had slept his way into a managerial position, and he's your client too, and you just jump on him?

So considering these two aspects, it was pretty obvious to me that he was suspicious. And that the mysterious messenger was to be discovered.

Something should have been added to turn the discovery of the typewriter into a real twist - they should have suspected someone else who could have sent them the messages (and obviously not the new murder suspect, since he had no interest to send the messages), and she should have been more difficult to seduce.

there's a highway that is curling up like smoke above her shoulder
