Better than the original

Wow, I didn't think I would be so surprised at how good this was. Everything about it was better than the original. Better music, slightly better actors, I always thought Christopher Stone from the original was a poor man's Tom Atkins. This time we get Christopher Lee who delivers a classic opening scene.

Everything about this movie is cooler. I love how when just about anything is mentioned they flashback to a past scene to show it. Even the transformation scenes are awesome. I can't forget the now iconic image of Christopher Lee in the new wave sunglasses.

Sybil Danning is so hot in this too. This is easily the best 'Howling' movie ever.

I also think it's better than the original plus it's the best Howling movie(and thats saying something). The original was very boring, the only thing I liked was the transformation scene. Howling II falls into "it's that bad it's actually good" category and I can't get enough of it. Never watch any sequel after this except maybe Part VI-The Creeps which was watchable in my opinion.

Howling II was a hell of allot better than the first peice of crap! II, IV and V were the best!

I haven't seen them all, but had Part V on Vhs years ago and loved it. The music stood out, and I loved the simple whodunit idea and the creepy castle setting. It was a bit more of a classic werewolf type film, as apposed to the other sequels I've seen, that tend to be pretty out there. part II I thought was a bit of a freak show and was a bit of a mess. Still, looking forward to seeing Part III tonight.

[Edit] Watched part III - not as messy or as insane as part II, but still not that good in my opinion. Philippe Mora's films seem to be consistently messy. Maybe I'll like part IV better, directed by John Hough of Biggles fame, a film I'm fond of.

is that what they were doing? I personally found it distracting.

I enjoyed how this one was filmed in Eastern Europe where alot of the werewolf legends exist in those small villages...the novelty wore off in a hurry the more they played that song from the new-wave punk wannabe band...that said I didnt think this was the worst movie in the series, I thought III, IV, & VI were much poorly done in comparison to II -

I find I watch this one more than the original -

Obviously the original is a classic, the transformation scenes and all that but there's something about this one, like someone has already said it's more pacier and overall it's just more fun plus it has Christopher Lee (enough said).
