The major difference is that a brother cannot celebrate Mass. Also, almost all brothers are elementary and secondary school teachers. While some priests teach,most do not----although particular orders like the Jesuits are renowned educators in secondary scools and college.

Brothers are monks in monastic orders. They may or may not choose to become ordained priests Some monks, such as Brother Thaddeus have distinguished careers within the monastic order without ever becoming priests.
