Atrocious picture quality

Was excited to sit down with this well-reviewed Hopkins thriller on Amazon Prime.

That soon evaporated when I started watching and saw sub-VHS picture quality. Initially I thought it was a stylistic choice for the opening scene, like it was supposed to resemble security camera footage, until I fast-forwarded.

Digging around it looks like this was a made for TV movie, but even then most American TV stuff was shot on film so it should be possible to do a proper scan of the original camera negative, but right it now it appears the film only exists in something resembling early rushes. On a 65” TV that just doesn’t fly.

I can’t believe Amazon put this out. Anyone know if a decent quality version of this exists..?
