I just saw this movie last night, and fell in love with it! It's pure 80s camp, but that's what made it so appealing to me. It's weird that I have never seen this before, since I'm such a fan of 80s flicks. Helen Hunt's outfits were the best, especially the headband with the stegosauruses on it. They just don't make films like this anymore.
shareIt is the perfect specimen of 80s teeny bopper camp, isn't it? I can't seem to find a single stock character not represented here. The outfits are great, the dialog is perfectly cheesy, the music, the plot, the now-A-list celebrities, the glaring plot holes, the dance rehersal montage, the dance competition... it's got everything I could want.
I've seen it a zillion times. I saw it when I was about 10 years old and liked it okay. I watched it again when I was about 20 and LOVED it. Much better when you're watching for campy goodness!

The yellow off the sholdwe top when they oull up to the auditions, the HAIR in the final scenes. Just where did they find that much hairspray?!! lol.
This movie is the absolute best! I have no idea how many times I've seen it, but it never gets old! I would have to say the same for Pretty in Pink and Can't Buy Me Love as well. I love 80's movies. Does anyone have any other classic favorites? Im always trying to remember good ones from when I was little and find new ones that I somehow never saw.

I so love this movie, bought it last year, saw it wen i was about 10 and was looking for it for years, then it came out last year to buy, so bought it from sendit.com. I just bought pretty in pink today, ive never seen it, looking forward to watchin it. I think the breakfast club is a classic, bought that last year too. gotta love dancing movies, just listenin to the soundtrack to footloose, have that movie too. all time favourite dancing movie has to be dirty dancing. anybody see sixteen candles, if so any good? changing the subject abit i remember ewoks was one of my favourite movie wen i was a kid, anyone else love that?
Sixteen Candles is one of my all time favorite 80s movies. You must see it if you haven't already...h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s!

I watched Modern Girls for the first time recently and I loved it! Its VERY 80's L.A. The outfits are great and so are the clubs the girls go to. Even the girls' apartment is awesome. I just found it at a random video store. I wouldn't search exhaustively for it or spend a ton of money on it but its definitely worth seeing.
