Location of Apartment Building?

Does anybody know where the apartment building is actually located? I know IMDB says filming was in Chicago, but I've been told from a reliable source that all the filming took place in Los Angeles. Having said that, I can't find the apartment. Anybody know where it is? (NOTE: When watching the movie, you can see a three-digit number on the white portion of the building, just below where the brick portion begins. It appears to be 837 or 537, but I'm not sure.) ANY help would be so appreciated! Thanks!
