Usually I hate 80s remakes, but if I did have to pick a movie to be remade it would be this one. Who do you think would star in it if it was remade? Would you even go see a remake?

Wow they do look a lot alike. Miles beter do a hell of a good job on this one. Its one of my favorite 80's storylines.
shareI think for the part of Janey, it should be Selena Gomez. For her friend, maybe Sofia Vassilieva from Medium. As for the guy, I don't know. Maybe a unknown or Logan Lerman, the guy that played Bobby on Jack & Bobby. And Natalie (the b*tch) could be played by Hallie Kate Eisenburg, because she is a good actress and can play anything and be good at it. In the original, in was teenagers and it should stay teenagers in the remake.

shareThe original is one of my favorite movies, and if they are going to remake it, than I really don't want to see people that are known for being terrible. I feel like some of the people suggested already are too child-star and what the project really needs is people in their late teens/early 20s who are actually worth a darn. Someone who I think would be really great as Natalie would be AnnaLynne McCord, who plays Naomi on 90210. She is perfect as the b*tch on 90210 and also played an antagonistic character in Fired Up. Unfortunately, Miley Cyrus probably will be Janie, even though she can't act worth a darn. Whoever plays Jeff needs to be someone who's believable as a tough ladies man, not Logan Lerman. Lynne needs to be someone quirky and funny (if Lisa Kudrow was a teenager she would be perfect). There should definitely be some unknowns in the cast because this is the kind of movie that has the potential to launch amazing careers, such as those of Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. Miley's cover of the song should also be included, especially if she secures that lead role.

I think it is gonna definitely be Miley Cirus as Janey, which is just gonna be awful. I think Hilary Duff would even be a better choice. She is much prettier and an ok actress in what i've seen of her.
I liked the idea of Leelee Sobieski as Lynne. She is a good actress from what I have seen of her. Plus she is unusual and quirky. Good traits for that charater. I don't really think Helen Hunt was cast that well in the original. Although I do like her.
As Natalie, I dread to think what disney or fake 90210 actress they'll put in for her. I think personally Lizzy Caplan would play that role well. Plus, at least she can act.
As Jeff? Unsure. Not Zac Efron anyway. At least make it someone who would be believable on a motorcycle. Someone who looks like Adrian Grenier maybe. He was in the Devil Wears Prada. But he is in his 30s. Still looks young though. So could maybe pull it off.
As Maggie, I'd agree with other threads that Abigail Breslin could be an option.
Janey's brother? No idea. How many Culkin's are there?
Natalie's dad? No idea. But for some reason I have the image of Christophe Lambert when he was in Mortal Kombat. Haha.
Janey's parents? Difficult. Coz Ed Lauter was a fantastic casting choice for her father. He is a brilliant actor. Someone who can seem that militant? Unsure of this one. And her mum? Diane Keaton? Only wrote that coz I can't think. They could even have a little cameo here and use Helen Hunt.
Drew? Again he was great. Christopher Mintz-Plasse maybe? He certainly has the geek factor about him, which was kind of Drew's quirk.
Anyone got any more ideas? Particularly who could play Janey's father. And please god NOT Billy Ray Cirus!!!!!!!
