They used the same growl effects that were used in "The Great Outdoors" for the bald-headed bear.

looks to be two different dogs/wolves. one looks like the typical grey/white one and then some of the shots show one thats practically all white.
when we first see it growl, it looks like a completely different animal. then as its running down the hallway, it goes back and forth between the two.
very odd. i guess they couldnt find two identical ones or something.
