The Reflection of Peter Vincent?

After watching this movie so many times throughout the years, something always seemed off about the Peter Vincent character. Something on the peripheral. Subtext. The mans reflection is never shown. In some scenes it almost appears to be intentional. What would be his reflection is just out of the camera frame. Granted he was shown in clear daylight at many different times of the movie, so, was he perhaps a different kind of Vampire? Something akin to what the Billy Cole character was?

He has a reflection in the movie. He had one when they went to Jerry's house.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...

In his first scene with Evil Ed & Amy, Peter is framed outside of the mirror, though his shadow is seen. When he opens the cigarette case to show it to the kids his hand is reflected and later in Jerry's house, he's looking at himself in the mirror. When Evil Ed attacks him, his reflection is seen again (and for a fleeting moment, so is Evil's shoulder!). He's reflected yet again in the sequel, so I think it's safe to say you're reading too much into the framing of that initial scene.
