The Fright Night remake... from India!

This thing has to be seen to be believed. In a region of India known as Tamil, there's a film industry that's smaller than Bollywood. Apparently they're known for making blatant clones of American horror movies, and in 1989 they ripped off "Fright Night" with "Amavasai Iravil" ("Moonless Night"). For fans of the original, this movie is downright surreal. It's a low-budget mostly scene-for-scene recreation (with a weirdly '70s vibe) but Peter's now a priest, Evil Ed cackles like a witch and turns into a German Shepherd, Jerry gets stabbed through the hand with a paint brush... and there's Bollywood like musical sequences! The dialogue is primarily in Tamil (here's hoping someone creates subtitles one day) but strangely, the actors all drift in and out of English -- and for anyone who knows the original well, it's not too difficult to figure out what's going on. Anyway, you can check it out below:
