"original" ending with Vincent as a vampire?

Curious. Is it true that an early draft of the script featured Peter Vincent's transformation into a vampire on the set of his TV series, at the film's epilogue?

If true, I'm glad that was not done, then the FN2 sequel could not have been made.

At the very least, it would have prompted the question- at what point during the film's events did Vincent get turned? clearly he was seen walking around during the daytime in various other scenes.

That page of the script was prominently featured on an eBay auction for various production materials that belonged to someone on the FX crew. Presumably in that draft, Peter was bitten in the climactic battle - maybe the bat was supposed to gnaw on Peter's arm instead of Charley's - but I can't say for sure since I've only seen the one page.

A sequel definitely could've been made, but then it would've been Charley against Peter Vincent, which could've been interesting in its own rite. The hammy actor vampire-slayer-turned-vampire? They could've gotten some mileage there! But I'm glad it worked out like it did cuz Regine and her cohorts were awesome.

I'm glad they didn't go with the original ending.
Peter Vincent was a loveable vampire killer.

Agreed, it's better having Peter Vincent on the side of the right.
