why was he called Evil Ed?

I know it is just his nickname, but why was he evil? he seemed a bit goofy to me, but not evil. 

He liked horror movies and stuff like that. That's why Dandridge wanted him as a fellow vampire.

I don't know, but Jerry should've "fired" Ed b/c of the lame way he tried to kill Peter Vincent. He makes the silly grunting sissy yell, which gives Peter time to escape, then manages to jump on a stake as the non-scary wolf.
