i think they stole the beverly hills cop theme...
i mean i realize iut not identical but it sounds very similiar.
" Death is my future and to escape it I must Face it"

It was done by the same guy that did the Axelf theme

The studio probably asked HF to come up with something similar, based on the success of BHCop and Axel F.
shareYeah, there are posters that credit Tom Scott (from the SNL and Blues Brothers band) as the composer so the change from Scott to Faltenmeyer must have been a pretty last-minute attempt at ripping of "Beverly Hills Cop".
It's interesting to think that there could be an entirely different score for this film out there, and it would probably hold up a lot better than the Faltenmeyer score (his work is very dated). Another missed opportunity on the crappy "Jane Doe Edition" DVD. They also could have interviewed "Fletch" author Gregory Mcdonald but now that's too late too.
I don't think the score is dated at all. It is one of the best 80's scores out there and these things always seem to come around every few years and be back in vogue. I listen to this score all the time, and his amazing score for "Thief of Hearts" too.

People didn't use the saying "back in vogue" in 2009. You're dating yourself quite a bit and not even aware of it.
shareThe song does feel very '80s, so I suppose you could call that dated, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I love '80s flicks.

Harold Faltermeyer went straight from BHC to Fletch, so he probably had some similar ideas running in his head.🐭

It was the 1980s...many songs and themes sounded the same.
