Dog jumping through window was unrealistic

It was a bit of a stretch to make the dog turn its head and say: "Where?"

A talking dog in a semi-serious movie .. that's a bit odd, but somehow fits this movie nicely.

It's odd, how this movie is not really a full comedy, but can be really funny at times (the doctor 'Rosenrosen'-scene gets me every time). And sometimes it seems like it's VERY serious and almost scary.

I don't think there are many movies that manage to balance on the edge like this, and succeed completely. Even the 'injected romance' isn't too bad here, it's kept so light-hearted and comical. So many times you see the comedy being dropped completely, when the 'romance bit' begins, but not here.

This movie also has some nicely subtle jokes, like 'A steak sandwich, and a stake(d?) Stanwyk, please' ..

The 'stake(d)' would fit it so perfectly, considering the multiple meanings of the word 'stake', one of which is to 'support someone', and then there's the concept of a 'stake-out', where you basically stalk someone.

It seems that the script is supposed to just read 'steak sandwich' twice..

..but Chevy Chase possibly changed it a bit with his marvellous delivery of the line. I am not sure what he ends up saying, exactly (my ears are not 'natively english-supporting'), but even if it's just 'steak Stanwyk', it's still funny and subtle.
