Whaaaaaat!?
sharenotice in that scene it is kind of resembling how fletch looks in the 1989 movie, last time this aired it was such a downer to realise the second wouldn't come on afterwards. the end shot of this with a grey rio as they walk on the beach i imagine that was not what the moviemakers had in mind. m emmet walsh and the crazy guy from "the producers" (1967) are in two small great roles, funny how geena davis keeps being referred to as "larry", it also has a great soundtrack, but the scene with a tab at the door waiting on mrs stanwyck is just distressing. they did not keep much of the cast from the first movie to appear in the second, at least the critics seem to prefer the first, but when don't they, this is one example where the sequel is richer, i find sometimes sequels can be better or just as good, such as austin powers and wayne's world, i can't believe how often they don't air wayne's world 2 after airing 1, it's almost like that shouldn't be accepted, unlike the second fletch movie, those feel like they are connected, one and the same journey split into two bits.

under the street lamps,
local theatre put on saddest play,
since you went away,
tick tock,
drags the grandfathers clock,
roll around,
cant rock since you left town.
I've used the ball bearing reference many times (without the haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay), and sadly, very few people get it.
