Also, what exactly is a steak sandwich? I'm from New Jersey and we have cheese steaks (or just plain steaks if that's your thing) which are shredded beef on roll. Is this that or an actual steak on a sandwich?

It's literally a piece of steak between two slices of bread. I used to work at a restaurant that served one. People would buy it and take it off the bread and just eat it like a steak. It was cheaper that way.
The one we served was bigger than the one in the picture though.. they're really good.
What's the point of ordering on bread then taking it off? How is it cheaper ordered on a roll opposed to by itself?

shareSteak sandwiches are actually pretty hard to find in my area. I guess it's not a very common menu item. I don't think anyone around here serves one. Pity too, they can be really good.
