Dead pool seemed a bit inspired by Fletch. The way both characters are still wildly sarcastic even when their lives are in danger.

Kevin Smith tried to get a new Fletch movie done for many years. I think he gave up. I know he wanted to cast Jason Lee as Fletch, who I thought would have been great, but he couldn't get the studio to agree. Reynolds would be good in the role also.

Nope, they got Jon Hamm instead. Honestly I'm glad it's neither Reynolds or Will Ferrell.

Jon Hamm? Uh-oh. As much as I enjoyed Mad Men, and did like his turn on 30 Rock, he seems marginal as a convincing actor. Whenever I see him he seems miscast or somehow not quite convincing.

I hope it's Ferrell. Since Ferrell totally ruins everything he's ever been in, this would be a perfect vehicle for him to slam into a bridge abutment and burst into flames with.

If Ferrell is in it, I won't have to worry about being tempted to see it.
