Liked Fletch Lives better

I just could not latch on to this movie from the initial premise of what it was built upon. Somebody asking him to shoot you at some point in the future, or at all, is just too far-fetched to connect with and understand moving forward. I thought it was not very clear to the viewer as Fletch moved from scene to scene what exactly the motive was in each stop. The sequel seemed a bit more relatable. But nonetheless there were some funny lines in here, of course.

this is movie is by far better. I find the 2nd movie funny in parts and watchable but its miles behind this one. I might be bias as well because the first movie has dana wheeler-nicholson in it. even for that matter is has alison laplaca as well (the airport desk lady). OT: between dana, alison and colleen camp (not in this movie of course) they were the 3 goddesses of the 80's.

I just loved the tone and actually even the story of the first movie with him travelling around investigating. the movie hooked me from the first time I saw it back in 2001. it is funny but don't expect national lampoon's vacation type funny. it is a different premise of a movie. there is where a lot of people can be put off. I liked seeing chevy be in more serious danger at times in the movie and him playing it a bit more of a straight guy rather than clark griswold which he can tend to play over in a lot of his movies which I don't mind but still.
