Ethan Hawke

No matter what role he plays, whether it be the sexy but dangerous serial killer suspect in, Taking Lives, or the wet behind the ears police officer in Training Day or the genetically deficient astronaut wanna be in the film, Gattaca I will always remember him as that poor cute love sick boy who yearned to visit the stars.

Same here!

He'll never say anything more important on film than "I christen thee the Thunder Road".

I always associate him with Explorers as well. My 4th grade class watched Exploers back in the 80s, I think it was day before a holiday or something. I remember Ethan Hawke from that movie, and when he started doing Independant movies in the 90s, I always remembered him as that kid from Explorers.

I always think of Explorers when I see Ethan Hawke too. NO MATTER WHAT ROLE HE PLAYS. I still think of Ben and Explorers.

I remember watching this movie on Showtime about 1986 and knowing River Phoenix was already a star in Stand By Me and Jason Presson starred with Robert Duvall in The Stone Boy. Whereas for Ethan Hawke, I figured it would be a one time role for him. Four years later, Dead Poets Society comes out and changes his destiny forever

Same here,he will always be that kid from explorers to me too. (he was a little cutie) Although I must say, I couldn't complain as I watched him get older and hotter (we are 10 years apart too, I was born in 1980, and he was born in 1970, so this isn't some sort of robbing the cradle infactuation with me...lol

I wonder what he thinks of this movie? Anyway, yeah when I see him I think of his character in 'Explorers' too. The character was a carbon copy of me at the same age [I was 11 when the movie came out. Same starry eyed dreamer pining for the girl. Same feathered light brown hair; it was the 80's ]. My friend who saw it with me even made the comparison. And we had a fiend identical in every way to Wolfgang. Our attempts to turn an old water heater into a space ship didn't turn out quite as well as 'Explorers' though.
