Goonies or Explorers?

These two films came out days apart in 12 July 1985 (USA) for the "Explorers" and 7 June 1985 (USA) for "The Goonies."

I remember during the summer of July 9th 1985, I was turning 9 years old, and my uncle wanted to take me to see a movie. That was a tough one, he had already seen The Goonies, and Explorers looked good, too. I decided on Explorers, it was good, but the ending was just weird. I ended up renting the Goonies, it was okay, I kind of lost interest and went to a friend's house to play. I wouldn't mind seeing the film I missed out on, on the big screen, which will be showing at a midnight showing in Colorado.

Did any of you see both these films on the big screen summer of '85? How did you seen them, when did you seen them?
