Didn't Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune make a similar movie in the 60s---"Hell In The Pacfic"?

Took place during WW2, both on an island and forced to get along untill the end, when they fight to the death

there are movies (and specially scores) which plots and structures are taken from old ones many often...I haven`t seen Hell In The Pacific, but this will be a good reason to search for it...

Of course, Hell in the Pacific is basically just a stripped-down version of an earlier film that Sinatra directed, None But the Brave.
