Remake This Movie!

There have been a lot of crappy remakes, Why not remake this one. I think with the right director, it could be an action blockbuster. It was before its time, now the story can be appreciated more. I think this will do well at the box office today as a remake.

I fear a remake would just become like the remake of The Fog.. With youngsters in the parts, and a story aimed at the young teenyboppers. And with none of the charm and message of the original movie.

Yes, yes, yes! It's an excellent movie, but they'd have to find a Director who can do art-house rather than action. I would hate to have the great friendship ruined by heavy-handed action. Still, ya, it's time for a re-make!

Isn't this a space version of the movie 'Hell in the Pacific' starring Lee Marvin.

So it is intself a remake!!

You bite your tongue. It would be a shame to remake this. Let a good thing be.

In a way, I have to agree with the OP in the sense that this movie *Is* before its time. A lot of FX in it can be done better these days because of the technology these days - in the least. Also the message can be brought over to today simply not only because of race but because of religions, too... Don't EVEN ask "why because of religions? I don't get it".... THINK! Anywho - the director would have to INSIST that this movie NOT become a flick for teeny-boppers and put age appropriate actors into the roles - and not have the movie full of people under 30.... seriously. Think of movies as pivotal parts of characters lives and we just happen to see it..... but not all pivotal parts of *peoples* lives happen we are under 30... some happen when we're 70, for God's sake.... If it's a story about a 40 year old, keep it that way.
SO - If Hollywood remakes this, even though REMAKES ARE GETTING OLD (Use your collective imaginations and do something ORIGINAL) --- keep the characters in their originally intended age brackets and don't aim the movie at teens.... because it would too much focus on the hot babes & dudes on the screen, and not enough of it on the POINT of it all.

*Rant over*

They already did... it was called "District 9" and was nominated for Best Picture.

Actually I thought of this the other day while watching D9. Only if Wilkus from D9 took care or adopted Christopher's son. This film is so strong because of the olve for a friend and a child that's not even yours is a powerful message indeed.

No, please do not ever remake this gem of a movie! I just saw it again 10 minutes ago and the movie is perfect just as it is.

Acting is amazing, story is still believable, and the special-effects look convincing enough. Last thing we want is to see the real flesh and blood Dracs being replaced by soulless CGI-creatures.

And I agree that in itself "Enemy Mine" was in a way a remake of "Hell in the Pacific".
