I remember liking Enemy Mine when I was a teen, so when it was on THIS channel recently I set my DVR. I'm glad I watched it again. Louis Gossett Jr. should have been nominated for an Oscar, but sci fi didn't get much respect back in the 80s. sci fi was popular in the 80s, but it wasn't respected.

IMBD users give Enemy Mine a 6.6 but that shouldn't be taken seriously. It'd rate a lot higher if it was released today. The movie's story is different than most sci fi, which is one of the reasons I liked it. It had a lot of touching moments, which should have turned me off a teenager, but instead I appreciated it.

If you like good sci fi, then put this on your netflix cue or bucket list or whatever you call it.

Agree...it's a SF flick which can be watched by all of us, even non-fans of the genre. I usually don't dig up SF, but this movie was more than one genre...it has depth.

Agreed. Just saw it for the first time and was very surprised at how good it is. I just wasn't expecting it to be very good, and it really is.

I really don't like Dennis Quaid as an actor in general with the exception of Enemy Mine and Innerspace. This is the most underrated film I can think of. Everything about it is great and I think it should be shown in school to teach children compassion and empathy.
