i hope so. i always thought it would be make a good limited TV eries, where it's about the war and all the stuff that leads up for each of the main character's lives until they meet on the deserted planet. Then, maybe even expand into the little alien baby story.
Since I'm Native American Indian, I always saw the movie as a metaphor for the Indian wars and always thought that the Earth people were the bad guys because they were once again killing for resources. It could make a good show -- much like how Star Trek was basically wagon train.
And I believe that's what makes it a great movie is that it can be read as anything. Matter of fact, I would make the Dennis Quaid character a person of colour.
