One of the better sci-fi of the Eighties.

SE are a bit dated but the story is solid and charaters keep your interest.

8/10.... feel good movie with an exciting plot... if you like science fiction then you'll probably like it.... don't expect massive explosions every few seconds, just keep in mind that Enemy Mine was made in 1985

Mine would be seven of ten, too.
I like the design, the action and of course the philosophical depth, but I dislike the kitschy moments.

Great, entertaining SciFi, with some timeless comments on racism and slavery.

I am surprised how much I still love it, after not (re)watching it for almost 20 years.

Haha! You funnyman.

The idea was interesting and very original but the execution was terrible and the script seriously in need of a rewrite (some scenes were too long, others way too short). That really shows you Wolfgang Petersen is a less than average director, as his next films would demonstrate. I think the make-up was a failure too, the mouth and the lips ruined it for me because you could see so clearly where the mask ended and that black actors were in the suits. Sadly this is worth only a 4 out of 10 in my book. Possibly a 5 if I try to forget the worst scenes and focus on the originality of the story. Worth a remake.
