I think the movie was trying to make a point, that even wooden actors shouldn't be chopped down
shareHe is a South American actor--Eduardo Conde. He's done mostly Brazilian movies. The only other American role I remember him in was as a dance in the stage show where Matthew Hollis, Michael Caine, reveals himself as Jennifer's, Michelle Johnson's, love in Blame it on Rio.
He was awful in Blame it on Rio, too.
