This scarefest is much too traumatizing and should be banned (Spoilers).
Perhaps, this is not exactly a bad thing. I feel after watching movies like this, it's like being thrust into another dimension. I can't imagine a worse scenario than that of being trapped in a dark Berlin theatre where demonic creatures are waiting to stomp your guts out. They're quick. Quick. Very quick. Unlike those slow-as-molasses zombies in the films of that vastly overrated fat slob George Romero. I can't even cook a bit of Hamburger Helper without finding myself petrified over an impending plague or demonia. I hate when Cheryl (Natasha Hovey), Ken and, especially Kathy transform into demons. Damn that poor wench, Kathy. I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate it when I see that sweet Kathy look all terrifying while she says "this place. Where am I?" Kathy looks even more bloodcurdling when she asks her friend and Ken who they are in a demonic voice. Then, what the hell do you damn kids know? Now, listen to me. Carefully. Kathy just had to transform into one of those demons. Not only that, but a slobberingly grotesque, fanged monster with slimy tentacles pops out of her back a la Gremlins. Damn that expoitative Lamberto Bava for horrifying me with such gruesome images. Forever. Too bad since Kathy was attractive. Alas, Paola Cozzo (as Kathy) looks absolutely terrifying whether she's a zombie or not. I think that particular zombie without skin would provide the inspiration for that overly grisly VHS cover for the New World version of the horror. Could it be that I was born in 1983 and the video cover itself traumatized me for years?
