All demons in the movie are first people who are then transformed, except for the one that explodes out of the back of Cheryl's friend. It does appear again. George kills it while on the dirt bike, I think it was killed somewhere in the lobby.

It appears a few times during the motorcycle scene and is slashed with George's blade... it then surprisingly re-appears when they are messing around with the helicopter and had a large chunk of it's head ripped off by the spinning blades!
shareThis was the demon that made me think that they were as confused by what was going on as much as the humans.
When the demon is taking over the girl and she still somewhat human, she looks up and asks "Who are you?" in that growling voice. Like it's confused as to where it is and who these people are. Then boom! it gets all savage and pops out of that girl's back.
Its also the only talking demon. The first demons may be making the way for the higher demons.
