The guy handing out flyers

At the begining of the movie there is a guy handing out flyers to the event with a metal mask on that is exactly like the metal one in the theater show room. Is this gentleman the same guy who was in the movie they were watching with part of a mask attached to his face?

I've baited my hook with my own underwear. Is it wrong that I hope to catch a fish I can relate to?-Ragdoll.

Yes he was in the movie, it's never fully explained what his deal is thou, my theory is that hes not taken the rest of the mask off incase he gets the scratch, it looks as if he's removed half of it without managing to get scratched, I'm guess the remains part contains the scratch.
