WTF

Dahm this movie was kinda bad, it was not funny, lame humor, some funny things but you gotta seek them, the guy who plays Ajax is iritating, Bruce is cool in this movie as Brion James, but further more this feels nothing like a coen scripted comedy...

I thought the movie was hilarious. To give you an idea of how much I like it, I saw it 20 years ago and still remember alot of the lines. My favorite being when the governor shows up at the execution asking "Am I too late?" when the answer is a negative he responds "Good...I didn't want to miss this" as he takes a seat. Now that's some funny s hit.

It's like a live action cartoon, which would be fine if it was only 10 mins long!
Sure, there are some nice camera angles and effects etc. but it's so boring, and all the characters are deeply unlikeable. Was the fat guy's voice overdubbed? He sounded like Yosemite Sam or someone.

No, the fat guy (paul lawrence smith) was not overdubbed. Its not his normal speaking voice, he effected it for the film, but its him speaking. One of the funny and memorable bits of the fim IMO

I just watched this movie and though I looked real hard at the credits and found -nothing- I still say that Paul L. Smith's voice was -definitely- overdubbed.

This movie was shot in Detroit and used a lot of local Detroit talent. It used Chuck Gaidica as a weatherman (his real job in Detroit) and Jimmie Launce as an announcer (another local celebrity).

I can't prove it by any of the credits, but I swear Paul Lawrence Smith's voice is overdubbed by George Baier who was a sidekick to Steve Dahl (before he left for Chicago radio). George Baier won a "Detroit Gong Show" on Steve Dahl's show and did many comedic/cartoon voices that saved Steve doing all the comedy on his wildly popular drive-time radio show.

One of George Baier's -beloved- vocal characters is "Dick the Bruiser", who is based on the popular Big Time Wrestling wrestler from Saturday afternoon Detroit TV. Paul Smith's character's voice is Dick the Bruiser overdubbed.

Check the following link and listen to any of the following audio files and see if you agree! The top links are songs and the second set of links are spoken voice. Use the second set of links to compare.

Sorry, for some reason IMDB adds an extra space that breaks the above link. Please copy-and-paste the following. Thanks!

When Steve Dahl left for fame and fortune in Chicago (and Howard Stern took over for him for a couple of months) George Baier went to WRIF in Detroit and was paired up with JJ and became part of The (staggeringly popular) Morning Crew. Steve was quite PO'ed that they kept the gig going after he left.
