Would this be suitable for a 14 year old?
I own a copy of Creature. By todays standards and rating systems do you think Creature should be shown to a 14 year old? My 14 year old cousin really wants to watch it with me.

shareBack when it was released in 1985, it was rated R in the US which meant no one under 17 is allowed to watch it without adult supervision. There are scenes of blood, decapitation, face ripping, nudity and other unplesantness. Though, with the way the average 14 year olds is exposed to today, he may be use to it. The Judgement is up to you.
shareNothing unpleasant about nudity!
shareWell, I saw it yesterday with my 3 years old son.. He laughted a lot... Greetings from Guatemala.. Great movie, low budget
shareI watched at the age 4 1/2 on HBO back in 1986 my parents weren't terribly diligent about policing what I watched lol. The only thing I really remembered aboutthe movie was the scene where the naked Susan kills and infects Fennel with a parasite (big surprise only remembering bobbie at that age lol). It was only very recently that I put a title to it after I stumbled upon it in the free movies section of my cable on demand library and saw the scene again.
shareThis film was so huge back in the 80's in my country, we kids talked about it at school all the time, it remained a cult in my memory the same like Evil Dead, both equally masterful, it seemed like everyone wanted to see it at the time the way we kids used to hype it up, to many of us it was far scarier than Alien, and after watching it again 25 years later it sure still is to me, perhaps one of the most terrifying films ever made to this day. William Malone is a master of his unique vision. 50's type of films like this only inspired Dan O'Bannon for writing Alien, it's almost like a prequel. I must admit this film was lucky not to have a bigger budget to create the maximum effect in the atmosphere and tension. Classic old fashioned filmmaking at its best, relying on the imagination, not the extravagant props or authenticity.
shareI don't see any reason why not, unless you're one of those who freaks out about seeing a female breast a few times.
