is absent, what happened to him?

Didn't show it in the movie but in the book, he ran off with Squeak (Harpo's side chick after Sofia left)! She must have looked good singing in Memphis haha. Shug then goes with this 20 something guy for a few months! The movie really watered some things down because this book was rough, but very well written!
