I think that's gotta be the most powerfully dramatic dinner table scene I've ever saw in a film. Celie finally has the courage to angrily confront Mister about what an ass he is and Sofia comes out of her miserable shell and becomes happy again. That was unforgettable the changes that happened with the characters right there during dinner.

The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

I know like Squeak revealing her real name as Mary Agnes "What in the hell kinda name is that?" and leaving along with Shug and Celie. Yeah, a lot of people showed their true colors that day.

I agree OP. That is my favorite scene in the film. Seeing Sofia and Celie take their power back was incredibly touching and changed the course/tone of the film in a great way.
