When Celie and Shug Avery were reading the letter Celie said "Albert" but Celie didn't know Albert'a real name until after Nettie was gone. Or better yet, why did Albert keep the letters?

In the book Nettie and Mister/Albert were dating, but their dad refused to let him marry her. Instead told him he could have Celie. Others say he kept the letters just to be evil and know that he had Nettie's letters all that time and Celie never knew of them.
shareGuess I "missed" that part but that explains how they met with Albert in the film. I know that he didn't chase Nettie off the property, she left on her own in the book.
