DVD edited one particular goof

I always remembered the original VHS tape. Always my favorite Chuck Norris flick. The Prowler's computer generated voice during the "sales pitch" stated that Prowler had twin 50 millimeter machine guns, which of course do not exist. We watched the DVD a couple of nights ago and I noticed that goof was edited as the computer voice now correctly says that it has twin 50-caliber machine guns.

Just a curious note.

Actually, I'm watching the VHS copy as I'm typing this, I was waiting for the goof mentioned, but the sales pitch voice definitely said caliber, not millimeter.

Trust me. I have it on VHS from years ago. Recorded it off some PPV channel back in the late 80's and it said "millimeter". I used to laugh every time I heard it. Of course, at some point they may have edited the VHS version, but it said "millimeter" in its original version. I appreciated your response as I didn't know they had fixed the goof at some point prior to the DVD. I hadn't watched this movie for a long time.

It reminded me of the original Dirty Harry, where in his first gun play he asks the punk about how many shots he had fired. In the original version, you only hear 5 shots, even though it seemed his "6th" shot was at the car. In the DVD you clearly "hear" that infamous 6th shot, right where it belongs. I guess they do fix their mistakes.

I have an old copy and it did say 50MM.

I was just watching a TV showing of it and it says caliber once and millimeter once. The second time came toward the end of the demo, just before Chuck pulls out his gun.
They made Chuck pull the gun because in the first take, he roundhouse kicked the machine and the force killed everyone else on the set, causing the whole film to be re-cast.
