They Are Killing Off Mrs. White!

The game board will replace Mrs. White with Miss Jasmine. I can't believe it.

I heard - a friend of mine in the UK runs a Cluedo website, and did an interview with the BBC radio.

Wasn't it supposed to be Dr Orchid?

Maybe the broadcasters here in the U.S. made a mistake? The new character apparently will be Asian, at any rate.

Colonel Mustard: Just how many husbands have you had?

Ms. White: Mine, or other women's?

Colonel Mustard: Yours.

Ms. White: Five.

Colonel Mustard: Five?

Ms. White: Yes just five.

It seems they're just changing everything just for the sake of it. I'll just play an older version.

Green Goblin is great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1L4ZuaVvaw

That's a tragedy!!! What will do they do next?... an all female Ghostbusters reboot?!

Why can't they keep the name and change the character's looks? Asians can't be named White??

It's Dr. Orchid, actually. And as far as Clue board games go, this new edition is the best one Hasbro has put out since 2002. They've gone back to the classic board layout, classic weapons, and generally got the personalities of the suspects back in line with their classic depictions. The media made a big deal of Dr. Orchid being Asian, and supposedly the first non-Caucasian suspect, but the Clue and Cluedo games have featured racially diverse suspect lineups before.

Clue 1972-1992: Miss Scarlet is generically Asian
Clue/Cluedo 2009: Mr. Green is black
Clue/Cluedo 2011: White and Green are black, Scarlet is generically Latin/Hispanic

Not to mention extra characters from spin off games who were of various ethnic/racial backgrounds.

Dr Orchid really resembles Madeline Kahn from the movie.
