Do you think Marty was ACTUALLY LITERALLY planning on sexually assaulting Lorraine for George's set-up? It certainly sounds like that was the plan....

This makes the whole incest aspect even darker. Lorraine was completely unaware she is his mother, so from her point of view is excusable.
However, Marty is painfully aware that she is his mom.

Was he really willing to go to such lengths, sexually assaulting his own mom for the benefit of the plan?

No, not at all. This was 1955 - when a good girl would ordinarily be highly offended if a boy asked her to show him her bra straps. A slap in the face and a hasty exit would ordinarily follow - that is if she was a "good" girl. Teen Lorraine was nothing like the stodgy mother he knew growing up and indeed was the aggressor.

Face it, whatever Marty had planned was a lot tamer than the kiss Lorraine planted on *him* to his utter horror.

Yeah, that's bizarre. I think the writers must have liked the reversal, with Biff becoming subservient to the new George.
