Doc's impulsiveness (and recklessness) makes no sense

So, Doc comes back from the future, and for SOME reason, decides to time it to 'next day' from when he left AND the same street.

How reckless is THAT? He could've bumped into traffic and had a HUGE accident and crash that would've killed people, including himself. Where's his meticulousness and planning??

Someone like Doc would NEVER do that. He wouldn't even go straight to 2015 or whatnot - he would probably just stay in one place for 24 hours, make meticulous observations about traffic and people so he has a safe point to return to. He doesn't want to plow straight into traffic he didn't realize (or observe) was there!

The more realistic (considering his character, although he IS insane, putting Marty in danger earlier by letting DeLorean come straight at them - what if he had a bug somewhere and it didn't work? BOTH DEAD for sure! (88mph collision with a DeLorean doesn't seem survivable to me)) way Doc could've approached the problem of 'Marty's kids are in danger' would be..

1) Doc arrives to known SAFE point and time, when there is NO ONE AROUND, not in a damn residential suburbian neighbourhood with traffic and kids during morning or daytime!

2) Doc goes to his own lab, garage, truck or whatever base he uses.

4) He takes his TIME to think about all kinds of variables and events, he draws schematics and plans, he ponders and thinks, tries to find all kinds of solutions to select the best one from, and plans and plans for maybe weeks or even months.

5) Then and ONLY then he approaches Marty by a simple PHONE CALL just like he did earlier. Does he really even need his help for this plan? Could divulgence of information be enough to complete the plan? I mean, to change the future, you don't have to time travel to future (that is going on anyway), you only need to inform people about it.

If I know a truck is going to hit me 10:14 pm in Lone Pine Mall parking lot Aug 24th, then all that's needed is for me to KNOW about it beforehand, and I can then choose for myself, whether I want that experience or to avoid it. No need to GO to that date to push me out of its way at the last second, just TELL ME about it and then I can make a choice.

Doc would SURELY realize this, and instead of recklessly and impulsively INSTANTLY hurrying into the future before anyone can think, he would know there CAN NOT BE HURRY when it comes to time travel, because the very concept of a time machine means they have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD (as already stated out loud in this very movie)!

Why would Doc be in such a hurry when he comes back from the future in his suspiciously weird clothes, when he's SO meticulous and adamant about being 'inconspicuous' in the sequels, that he even has a money briefcase prepared for all kinds of eras?

I know I am reaching into the sequels again, but as the nonsensical end of this movie is the nonsensical beginning and motivator for the sequels, it's somewhat relevant.

It makes no sense that the Doc would hurry, or just CRASH INTO the friggin' trashcans (implying he COULD have just as easily crashed into a produce truck or a Lamborghini, and at the very least it implies the Doc didn't KNOW the trashcans were going to be there, or is RECKLESS and CARELESS enough to not care!) and just act all crazy in weirdo clothes.

He would make damn sure he's dressed 'normally', arrive inconspicuously, or at least use a normal method like a phone call instead of interrupting a lovers' kiss to contact Marty, and so on.

Also, "You've GOT to come back with me" makes no sense. Marty doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do!

It also doesn't make sense from any logical point of view; Marty doesn't have to do anything but KNOW about the future to change the future.

Why doesn't Doc visit Marty in the future the way he promised, is also beyond me, when it comes to the stupid sequels. He should've just rang the doorbell and been like 'well, here I am, from the past - as promised!'

Then he could've explained everything. Old Jennifer should also KNOW about all the time traveling madness, as she was PART of it.

In any case, nothing about any of these movies really make any sense, when you think about it..

Doc, while thinking himself to be cautious is actually shown to be a reckless guy throughout the series.

It makes perfect sense and is within his character.

"when you think about it"

Hmm.. you're opening a whole can of worms there.

If you desire anything "to make sense," then the less you think about it, the higher your chances of success will be.
